FAQ

What do you use in your products?

We use only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients in our baked goods, including real butter, whole eggs, and fresh fruit and nuts. Quite a few of our products are organic. We don’t use preservatives in any of our products.

Do you use nuts in your products?

Some of our products, like our carrot bread, banana bread, pumpkin bread, and some of our other items, do contain nuts. Additionally, all of our baked goods are made in the same kitchen, so they may not be suitable for those with nut allergies even though the non nut products are not physically exposed to nuts when they are made..

Do you offer Gluten-Free items?

We offer a few ‘gluten-friendly’ items on our menu, however all of our foods are prepared in a common kitchen so we cannot guarantee that cross contact with other gluten-containing products will not occur. As a result, we do not recommend our ‘gluten-friendly’ items for persons with Celiac Disease although some of our customers do have the disease and do not seem to have a problem with our products. Our ‘gluten-friendly’ offerings are designed for those with minor gluten sensitivities or those who prefer to avoid gluten for nutritional reasons. We are not trained on the intricacies of celiac disease or gluten intolerance and cannot be expected to provide recommendations or other advice.

Are you Kosher?

No.

Should I refrigerate my breads or other baked goods from Mama Fay’s Kitchen?

Try to eat your breads as soon as possible—they’ll taste freshest that way. In the event you can’t eat them all in one day, they keep best in an airtight container at room temperature for 1 to 3 days. After that you should refrigerate them for approximately one week. If you want to keep them longer, freeze them on receipt from 2 to 4 months. Put the whole container in its original sealed package into the freezer. Of course those with whipped cream, etc. should be refrigerated on receipt!

You can also warm them up by putting slices on a dish in the microwave for intervals of 10 seconds.  This will moisten and soften the breads as if just baked.  You can also put slices in a toaster oven on low.  Another choice is to put the container without the cover in an oven at 350 deg. for 10 to 12 min.
